Lisu ethnic village built on steep cliffs of the Jinsha River (upper reaches of the Yangtze) at Tongle in Yunnan province. The Jinsha is a component of the Three Parallel Rivers, a UNESCO World Heritage site chosen for its outstanding biodiversity. The Three Parallel Rivers refer to a section of the Hengduan Mountain Ranges where three great rivers, the Yangtze (Jinsha), the Mekong (Lancang) and the Salween (Nu) runs roughly parallel to each other. |
